China’s GDP Grows by 5% in 2025

On January 19, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) announced that China’s gross domestic product (GDP) in 2025 increased by 5% over the previous year.

On the same day, the State Council Information Office held a press conference on the performance of China’s national economy in 2025.

The Commissioner of the National Bureau of Statistics stated that in 2025, facing the complex changes in the domestic and international economic environments, China’s national economy maintained growth against headwinds, shifted toward new drivers and higher-quality development, scored fresh achievements in high-quality development, and successfully accomplished all the major goals and tasks for economic and social development.

According to preliminary accounting, the annual GDP reached 1,401,879 billion yuan.

Calculated at constant prices, it rose by 5.0% year on year.

国家统计局局长表示：在2025年，面对国内外经济环境的复杂变化，中国国民经济运行顶压前行、向新向优，高质量发展取得新成效。经济社会发展主要目标任务圆满实现。
初步核算，全年国内生产总值1401879亿元，按不变价格计算，比上年增长5.0%
